Two new staff members join USA Cycling

Colorado Springs, Colo. (Jan. 26, 2006) – USA Cycling is pleased to welcome two new members to the USA Cycling staff in 2006.

Kam Zardouzian will begin his post as Director of Collegiate Cycling Jan. 30. Kam comes to USA Cycling from San Diego, Calif. and brings 14 years of managerial experience in corporate and technology-based fields. He has been a USA Cycling coach since 2001 and is in his third year of working with the cycling team at University of California – Santa Cruz.

As Director of Collegiate Cycling, Zardouzian will be responsible for the overall operation and growth of the Collegiate Association of USA Cycling.

“I think it was meant to be,” said Zardouzian of his new position. “If I were to write the perfect job on the planet for me, this would be it.”

Zardouzian has been a competitive cyclist since 2001 and currently leads the Southern California Time Trial Series in points.

The newest addition to the marketing department has previous experience with USA Cycling. Theresa Delp rejoined USA Cycling as Director of Retail Sales Jan. 17. Delp’s responsibilities include developing, implementing and overseeing USA Cycling’s on-line store and sponsor fulfillment of membership benefits. 

Delp previously served as the Results and Rankings Manager, moved into Membership Director, the eventually moved became Vice President of Membership Services during her initial tenure with USA Cycling. She returns to USA Cycling after a 14-month hiatus in California where she managed membership services for The American Institute of Wine, Food and the Arts in Napa, Calif.

“I’m very excited about my new position, it gives me the opportunity to again, work with such a wonderful group people, our staff, our sponsors and our outstanding members,” Delp said.

“Kam and Theresa represent two significant additions to our dedicated staff,” said USA Cycling chief executive officer Gerard Bisceglia. “Collegiate cycling has so much potential as a developmental pipeline for future athletes. The appointment of a specific staff member to oversee our efforts is a vital element in the overall growth of the program.”

“USA Cycling is adding significant benefits and sponsor-related affinity programs to our members on an ongoing basis so Theresa’s involvement is integral in communicating our current and future benefits to our membership,” Bisceglia said.
