The 2024 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Series concluded its eight-stop tour with its finale in Missoula, Montana on June 8. The series featured both Cross-Country Olympic-style (XCO) and Short-Track Cross-Country (XCC) events.
The series of eight events attracted top talent from across the United States and offered participants the opportunity to improve their national and international ranking. Events within the USA Cycling Cross-Country Mountain Bike National Series offered categories for all ages and skill levels, giving riders with varying degrees of experience the opportunity to race alongside the nation’s top athletes.
The series kicked off on March 23 in Temecula, California, with the Orange Seal Pro Cup p/b Vailocity. Christopher Blevins (Durango, Colo.; Specialized Factory Racing) and Haley Batten (Park City, Utah; Specialized Factory Racing) won in the Elite Men’s and Elite Women’s categories, respectively. Blevins, despite a busy World Cup schedule, managed to maintain his overall lead with several wins throughout the series. Batten, competing again only at stop five in Utah where she won, finished third overall at the end.
The second stop of the series was the Tennessee National in Oliver Springs, Tennessee on March 24, followed by the US Pro Cup in Fayetteville, Arkansas, from April 3 to 7. From there, the series moved to Ruston, Louisiana for the Piney Hills Classic from April 12 to 14, and then to Midway, Utah for the Soho Bike Fest and American Continental Championships from May 8 to 12. The Englewood Open in Fall River, Wisconsin, took place on May 17 and 18, followed by the Showdown at Angler’s Ridge in Danville, Virginia on May 31 and June 1. These events led up to the final race in Missoula, Montana on June 8.
In the Elite Men's overall, Blevins claimed the top spot with 260 points, Tyler Orschel (Pan-American Union Racing) took second with 230 points, and Devon Feehan (Windsor, N.Y.) in third place with 181 points.
For the Elite Women, Jennifer Jackson (Liv Factory Racing) led the overall standings with 220 points, Fatima Anahi Hijar Marin (Massi Mexico) came in second with 187 points, and Batten secured third place with 160 points.
The USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Series highlighted top-tier elite racers and provided opportunities for amateur and junior cyclists to compete. Junior riders had the opportunity to secure an automatic berth in their respective age-group final at the 2024 USA Cycling Cross-Country Mountain Bike National Championships.
