Meet the Athlete
Drew's first time at the BMX track was in 2011 at Manzanita Park BMX in Prunedale, California. After his first day, he was hooked. This would end up being the end of his 4 years of racing dirt bikes and the beginning of an amazing BMX life. He moved quickly into the expert class, but wouldn’t make national main events until 2015. His family moved to Indiana in 2017, where he began taking BMX more seriously. The big breakthrough was a year later when he won his first national in Roseville, California. Soon after this, he joined Factory WiaWis which was led by Donavon Long. He finished the 2018 season with NAG 4. For 2019, Drew went in with higher goals and ultimately earned NAG 1 in the 16 Expert class. In 2020, he began riding for Factory Hyper, still led by Donavon Long. This was his first season in the 17-20 Expert class and it ended with NAG 4. He knew from these results that he had to step up his training, and committed to training daily with his team manager, Donavon. This would prove to be the best choice possible, as Donavon led him to getting World 3 in Junior Men and NAG 1 in the 17-20 Expert class in 2021. With the introduction of the U23 class this year, Drew plans to race U23 at UCI events and 17-20 Expert at USA BMX events. Additionally, he is a freshman at Marian University where he's on the cycling team and double majoring with mechanical engineering and computer science.
