Elsa started out mountain biking in her hometown of Missoula Montana, and her love for the sport was fostered by the many incredible people and programs that make up the Missoula cycling community. She competed in her first cyclocross race at eight years old. As she grew as an athlete, she fell in love with the combination of physical and mental toughness required to succeed in cyclocross. The cycling community in her hometown is still one of her main motivators in the sport, and their support allowed her to reach the lofty goals she had for the 2021-2022 season. After podium finishes in a few of the USCX races, she had the opportunity to go across the pond to race the Kerstperiode in Belgium with EuroCross Academy. She placed 12th in the GP Sven Nys and 20th in the Dendermonde World Cup. Beyond the results, she learned more during her three weeks in Belgium than in a whole season of domestic racing in the U.S. Her performance qualified her for the 2022 UCI Cyclocross World Championships and had the honor of representing the U.S. on home soil; an experience she will never forget. Outside of cyclocross, she competes in local and regional mountain bike races. She also alpine ski raced up until 2021, and still likes to ski in the winter. Additionally, she is a violinist and enjoys school.
