Meet the Athlete

Katherine started cycling when she was 10 years old by joining a local club called Rock Creek Velo. She fell in love with racing immediately. After two seasons of racing, she went to her first National Championship. She was not a podium contender at the time, but she was determined to get to that level. Two years later, she won her first Stars and Stripes jersey in Reno. Last season was the first time she was eligible for CX Worlds since there was no racing the previous year. She targeted the USCX races and National Championships to be selected for the National Team and compete at Worlds. Katherine won 6 out of 8 USCX races and National Championships which allowed me to go on a National Team race trip to Belgium and race at Worlds. She placed 2nd at Baal and was 3rd for the X2O Badkamers series on the race trip. A month later, was the World Championships in Fayetteville and she placed 11th.

What is one of the most pivotal experiences you've had that helped get you to where you are today?

Podiuming at my first road Nationals, because it showed me that I have potential in the sport.

Growing up, how did youth sports impact who you are today?

Cycling has taught me make my dreams a reality by putting in the works, rather than sit around and wait.
