Pro UET: Juarez and Gordon win 2013 overall titles

  
  


(Aug. 13, 2013) -- The USA Cycling Pro Mountain Bike Ultra-Endurance Tour (Pro UET) calendar came to a close on Saturday with competition at the Galena Grinder Whit Henry Memorial in Galena Lodge, Idaho. At the conclusion of the three-race calendar, David "Tinker" Juarez (Whittier, Calif./Sho-Air - Cannondale) and Serena Gordon (Bend, Ore./All Access Racing) emerged at the top of the standings in their respective divisions.
 
Men

Juarez successfully defends his 2012 title with a second-place finish at Gelena Lodge and thereby securing the top spot in the Pro UET men's standings with 140 total points. Joshua Berry (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Vélo Club La Pomme Marseille) set a course record of 3:25:26 to blaze his way to a first-place finish on Saturday and vault into a tie for second place in the final standings with Alex Grant (Salt Lake City, Utah/Sho-Air - Cannondale). Both riders finished the year with 60 points. Berry's time broke the previous course record by nearly nine minutes. Fourth place in the standing goes to Ryan Clark (Laguna Hills, Calif./Audi - Felt) who accumulated 55 points during the year. Rounding out the top five are Chris Jackson (Burbank, Calif.) and Kip Biese (Colorado Springs, Colo./KJ Bike Coaching) who finish tied for fifth place in the standings with 40 points apiece.

Women
Gordon finished second at Galena Lodge to give her 110 points on the year and wrestle the top spot in the Pro UET women's standings from Jessica Cerra (Encinitas, Calif./Focus Bikes) who places second in the overall standings with 100 points. Jana Repulski (Boise, Idaho/Broken Spoke Cycling) was the first to cross the line at the Galena Grinder Whit Henry Memorial, earning her 60 points and putting her in a tie with Monique "Pua" Mata (Yucaipa, Calif./Sho-Air - Cannondale) for third place overall. Jennifer Tobin (Boise, Idaho/Wild Rockies, Inc) finished fifth in the women's standings with 30 points after a third-place finish on Saturday.
