At the age of five, Tyler and his brother, Skyler, spotted a BMX track adjacent to a nearby park where their father had brought them to play. After begging incessantly Tyler's father allowed them to try it and and, despite an avid hockey career as a youngster, has been racing ever since.

Tyler cites his father, Jerry's, support in encouraging him to stick to the sport through tough times. Faoro enjoys travel and is an avid Miami Heat fan.
