UCI Masters World Championships
Supported by USA Cycling
The UCI offers Masters the ability to earn the World Stripes in the following disciplines: Road, Track, Cyclocross, Mountain Bike, Gravel, and BMX.
How does Masters Worlds racing work?
Each discipline has it's own set of qualification criteria. As of now Road, Gravel, and BMX athletes will need to qualify prior to registering. Track, Cyclocross and Mountain Bike athletes don't have a set qualification to attend.
WHO CAN RACE?
Master World Championships are open to those that are 35 years old and up.
Qualification will depend by event and discipline, make sure to check out the event registration page prior to registering.
Nothing new, your event will run similar to our Master National Championships. Enjoy the opportunity to race for Team USA!

The License: To compete at a UCI Masters World Championship event you will need to hold a UCI International License. No matter if the event is held here in the United States or abroad. That is because the International license comes with additional insurance that is required by the UCI in comparison to our domestic license.
Please note, make sure your license lists Master as the UCI Category (not Elite). Anyone that has earned even one (1) Elite UCI point could become ineligible to compete at the Masters World Championships in that calendar year.
The Rules: It's important to understand the official UCI rules & regulations before your next big event. Read the Rulebook here.
When racing out side of the country you will need to be able to present a copy of your license and a foreign permission letter stating that you're in good standings with USA Cycling to compete abroad.

When competing at a Masters Worlds event you will need to wear a USA jersey. You can purchase National Team kit directly from the Cuore webstore. https://shop.cuore.ch/category/usa-cycling
Please note CUORE just opened up a special store for Worlds, but this would be a good time to purchase if your also thinking about Track, Gravel or CX worlds: https://teamshop.cuore.ch/gran...

Alternately, you may produce a USA kit through your team clothing sponsor. These designs generally need to reflect a similar design to the USA Cycling National Team kit.
Confirm your international coverage with your health insurance provider. To make sure that you have adequate medical coverage when competing outside the United States, we recommend selecting the Spot insurance add on to the International license. You can learn more about the coverage here.
