Four Americans will compete in Luoyang, China this week at the 2024 UCI Junior Track World Championships, which runs from August 21-25.
Sixteen-year-old Ashlin Barry (Toronto, Ont.; EF Education – ONTO) will race at the Track World Championships after a successful season on the road. Barry is the current Junior Men’s Road Race and Individual Time Trial National Champion and won his first Junior UCI stage race at the Tour du Bocage. Merrick Gallagher (Redmond, Wash.; Jerry Baker Juniors) is ready to take on the world after winning the Junior Men’s Individual Pursuit, Elimination Race, and Points Race National Titles in Redmond, Wash. Current Junior Men’s Criterium and Madison National Champion Alejandro Che (Torrance, Calif.; Hot Tubes) will return to the World Championships to compete in the Madison, Points Race, and Scratch Race.
Reagen Pattishall (Breinigsville, Pa.; Edge Cycling) is also returning to the World Championships in her final year racing the junior category. She’s proven her dominance on the track, winning every event she entered at the 2024 Junior Track National Championships this month. The 21-time National Champion will go for gold in the endurance events in Luoyang.
