On the fourth day of the 2024 UCI Road and Para-Cycling Road World Championships, the Junior Women raced in the Time Trial along Lake Zurich.
This morning in Zurich, the Junior Women competed in a 19km Time Trial. With minimal elevation gain, it was set to be a fast-paced race from the start. Lidia Cusack (Chevy Chase, Md.; dcdevo Racing Academy) and Helena Jones (Boulder, Colo.; Team Twenty24) were the two Americans who lined up for the race against the clock. Nearly halfway through the race, Cusack’s time placed her in 14th. She kicked it into gear for the last 10km, making up time to finish in 11th with a time of 25:04.43. Her second-half split ranked her fifth fastest. Jones maintained a strong and steady pace, finishing with a time of 26 minutes, which put her in 26th position.
