The 2024 UCI Track World Championships concluded on Sunday at the Ballerup Super Arena with the Women’s Points Race, Men’s Elimination Race, and the Men’s Madison.
Jennifer Valente (San Diego; Virginia’s Blue Ridge TWENTY24) competed in the Points Race during the final evening session of the World Championships. Lapping the field was crucial for staying at the front of the race. Fourteen riders, including Valente, were able to take a lap. She won the fourth sprint, earning a total of 25 points, which secured her ninth place overall.

The Men’s Elimination Race was filled with crashes and relegations for dangerous riding. While navigating those challenging, U.S. rider Grant Koontz (Nederland, Colo.; Star Track Cycling) was the fifth rider eliminated, finishing in 18th place.

In one of the most exciting events of the Championship, Colby Lange (Edwards, Colo.; Chaney Windows and Doors) and Peter Moore (Saint Paul, Minn.) competed in the Men’s Madison. Unfortunately, the duo were unable to stay with the front of the race as the leaders repeatedly took laps on the field. Team USA finished several laps down, placing 14th.
