The final competitions of the 2019 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series, rounds 7 and 8, were hosted in Rock Hill, South Carolina this last weekend (Sept. 13th-14th). In the men’s competition, Corben Sharrah (Tucson, Ariz.) took first place over fellow teammate and two-time Olympian Connor Fields (Las Vegas, Nev.) by half of a second during round 7. Fellow teammate Jeremy Smith (Seminole, Fla.) placed ninth. During round 8 of World Cups, Sharrah and Fields followed up with another top 10 performance placing 4th and 8th respectively.
In the women’s competition, World Champion Alise Willoughby (St. Cloud, Minn.), placed third and Felicia Stancil (Lake Villa, Ill.) and Brooke Crain (Visalia, Calif.) also place in the top ten coming in fourth and sixth respectively. During round 8, Willoughby bettered her bronze medal, earning a silver while Stancil placed sixth.
The final standings for the World Cup series placed Willoughby in second overall as well as the U.S. Women’s second in Nation’s Rankings. The Men’s National Team placed the U.S. in third overall in Nation’s rankings.

After an exciting weekend in Rock Hill, S.C., the 2019 USA Cycling Collegiate Tack National Championships have concluded with several Stars-and Stripes jerseys awarded. 72-time National Champion Coryn Rivera (Newport Beach, Calif.; Team Sunweb) raced at the 2019 Lotto Belgium Tour competing on the U.S. National Team with a stellar line-up of American Riders including 2019 National Champion, Ruth Winder (Layfayette, Calif.; Trek-Segafredo) Skylar Schneider (West Allis, Wisc.; Boels-Dolman), Erica Clevenger (Golden, Colo.; Sho-Air Twenty20) and Katie Hall (Saratoga, Calif.), where Team USA won three out of the four stages.
During the prologue, 2019 Road National Champion, Winder won the Time Trial while Rivera placed third. After placing sixth in Stage one, Rivera decisively won stage two launching her famous sprint after Winder brought the peloton back to catch a rider on a solo breakaway, setting Rivera up for a perfect attack. Rivera clinched the final stage victory after spending more than 50km in the breakaway.
Hannah Roberts (Buchanan, Mich.) continued her dominance last weekend at the 2019 World Urban Games in Budapest Hungary proving why she is ranked number-one in the World. Reigning World Champion, Justin Dowell (Virginia Beach, Va.) Placed third in the Men’s Competition.
Over the weekend, both the 2019 Cyclo-cross world cup and Jingle Cross Classes (C1, C2) were held.
In Iowa City at the 2019 Cyclo-cross World cup, the men’s elite team had three top 20 finishes. Curtis White (Duanesburg, N.Y.), Gage Hecht (Parker, Colo.), and Lance Haidet (San Luis, Calif.) placed fifteenth, eighteenth, and twentieth respectively. On the women’s side, the women’s elite team had seven top 20 finishes. Clara Honsinger (Portland, Ore.) placed third overall and fellow teammates Kaitlin Keough (Racine, Wis.), Rebecca Fahringer (Concord, N.H), Courtenay McFadden (Bellingham, Wash.), Madigan Munro (Boulder, Colo.), Katie Clouse (Hideout, Utah), and Sunny Gilbert (Ellisville, Mo.) placed seventh, ninth, fourteenth, sixteenth, and twentieth respectively.
At the 2019 Jingle Cross race in Iowa City, Iowa, Team USA had a men’s and women’s elite, and men’s junior team compete at both the C1 and C2 level.
C1 men’s elite riders had nine top 20 finishers. At the top was Gage Hecht (Parker, Colo.) placing sixth overall. Here are the places for the other top 20 finishers: Kerry Werner (Advance, N.C) placed ninth, Brannan Fix (Fort Collins, Colo.) placed eleventh, Stephen Hyde (Milton, Fla.) placed twelfth, Curtis White (Duanesburg, N.Y.) placed thirteenth, James Driscoll (Park City, Utah) placed fifteenth, Grant Ellwood (Boulder, Colo.) placed seventeenth, Eric Brunner (Boulder, Colo.) placed eighteenth, and Lance Haidet (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) placed.
C1 women’s elite riders dominated the race with 12 top 20 finishers. Kaitlin Keough (Racine, Wis.) placed fifth overall with her fellow teammates finishing close behind her. Clara Honsinger (Portland, Ore.) placed seventh, Katie Clouse (Hideout, Utah) placed eighth, Courtenay McFadden (Bellingham, Wash.) placed ninth, Rebecca Fahringer (Concord, N.H) placed tenth, Madigan Munro (Boulder, Colo.) placed twelfth, Samantha Runnels (Austin, Texas) placed thirteenth, Sunny Gilbert (Ellisville, Mo.) placed fourteenth, Crystal Anthony (Newbury Park, Calif.) placed fifteenth, Caroline Nolan (Mooresville, N.C.) placed seventeenth, Caitlin Bernstein (Reno, Nev.) placed nineteenth, and Ellen Noble (Kennebunkport, Maine) placed twentieth.
C1 Junior riders also competed in the 2019 Jingle cross race where 18 riders placed in the top 20 sweeping the top 5 spots. Andrew Strohmeyer (Mount Airy, Md.) edged out his teammate, Jared Scott (Boulder, Colo.), for first place by .35 of a second. Following shortly behind them were teammates, Nick Carter (Minneapolis, Minn.), Luke Feuerhelm (Merrill, Ia.), and Tommy Serventas (Sykesville, Md.).
Men’s elite, C2, had 14 top 20 finishes. Team USA’s top finisher was Grant Ellwood (Boulder, Colo.) placing sixth. Here are the places for the other top 10 finishers:
