Team USA Recap: BMX World Cups Kick Off with Podiums at MTB Pan Ams

(May 25-29) - Fresh off her 2^nd place finish at the USA Cycling National Championships last week, reigning World Champion and Olympic Silver medalist Hannah Roberts placed 4th at this season’s first Freestyle World Cup, held in Montpellier, France. Roberts was followed by Americans Angie Marino (8^th) and Chelsea Wolfe (9^th), who took 3^rd at Nationals the previous week.

On the men’s side, the U.S. swept 4^th through 7^th place in the finals, with Tokyo 2020 Olympian Nick Bruce (4^th) leading the way, followed by newly crowned USA National Champion Marcus Christopher (5^th). They were followed by Brian Fox (6^th), who placed 2^nd the week before at Nationals, and former World Champion Justin Dowell (7^th).

(May 28-29) - On the Elite women’s side, American Felicia Stancil, fresh off her 2nd place finish at BMX Racing Nationals in Tulsa, made it to the semi-finals placing 12^th overall in Glasgow, the first World Cup event of the season. On the men’s side, Cameron Wood led the Americans with a 14^th place finish, also making the semi-finals. He was followed by Kamren Larsen (19^th), who placed second at Nationals.

(May 27-29) - RideLondon was the third stage race in three weeks on the pro women’s calendar, coming just a week after Vuelta a Burgos Féminas. American Coryn Labecki (Team Jumbo-Visma) placed 14^th overall, helped by a strong, 8^th place finish on Stage 3. She was followed by 20^th placed Krista Doebel-Hickok (EF Education-Tibco-SVB), who was 4^th on GC the previous week at Vuelta a Burgos Féminas.

(May 26-29) - Kelsey Urban, 23, was one of the few Americans to make the trek down to in Catamarca, Argentina. The 2019 U23 National Champion landed on the podium in both the Elite Short Track and XCO races. The Short Track came down to a sprint where she finished in 2^nd place right at the line. In the XCO race, she finished 3^rd.
