Critérium du Dauphiné: France
(June 2-9) – Matteo Jorgenson (Team Visma/Lease a Bike) placed 2nd overall and 1st in the Youth category at Criterium du Dauphiné, finishing just 8 seconds behind winner Primož Roglič. Over eight days of racing, Jorgenson turned in a series of stellar performances, placing top 5 in five stages. It’s the 24-year-old’s third podium finish of the season; he previously won Dwars door Vlaanderen and the eight-stage Paris-Nice.
Jorgenson went into the final mountain stage sitting 62 seconds behind Roglič and managed to whittle away most of that lead – but not quite enough to beat the now two-time Dauphiné champion.
“No, no regrets,” Jorgenson said after the final stage. “It was a very difficult race and I have to be satisfied with my performance this week. It was really a good day and I leave here super happy.”

American Criterium Cup: Saint Francis Tulsa Tough, Tulsa, OK
(June 7-9) – The American Criterium Cup (ACC), an eight-race professional criterium series, kicked off at the long-running Saint Francis Tulsa Tough, a three-day cycling festival for pros and amateurs in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The first of three nights of pro racing started Friday and saw Kendall Ryan (L39ION of Los Angeles) win the elite women’s race, followed by Skylar Schneider (Miami Blazers) in 2nd and Alexis Ryan(L39ION of Los Angeles) in 3rd. Luke Lamperti (Soudal Quick-Step) won the elite men’s race, followed by Bryan Gomez (REIGN Storm Racing) and Noah Granigan (Miami Blazers).
Saturday night’s women’s race saw Ryan and Schneider again place 1st and 2nd, followed by Paola Munoz (Goldman EFT Racing) in 3rd. Moritz Augenstein (DCC) won the elite men’s race, with Alec Cowan (L39ION of Los Angeles) and Michael Garrison (MGR p/b NICH SpeedClub) taking 2ndand 3rd.
The final night of elite women’s racing saw Alexis Ryan (L39ION of Los Angeles) place 1st, Skylar Schneider taking 2nd again, followed by Rylee McMullen (DNA Pro Cycling) in 3rd. On the men’s side, Lamperti won his second race of the weekend, followed by Cole Davis (Ribble Rebellion) and Noah Granigan (Miami Blazers) in 2nd and 3rd.

UCI MTB World Cup Downhill: Leogang, Austria
(June 7-9) – US Downhill national champion Anna Newkirk (Beyond Racing) posted a series of impressive runs then earned silver in the finals of the Elite Women’s DH World Cup in Leogang, Austria. This marks Anna’s most impressive career results and first World Cup podium. Luca Shaw(Canyon CLLCTV Factory Team) placed 7th in the Elite Men’s final.
In the junior men’s final, Lucas Dedora (The Gravity Collective) was 6th. Matilda Melton(Transition Factory Racing) and Kale Cushman (The Gravity Collective) placed 6th and 8th in the Junior Women’s final.
After three rounds of World Cup DH racing, Shaw is 2nd and Dakotah Norton (Mondraker Factory Racing) is 8th overall in the standings for Elite Men; Newkirk stands 5th overall among Elite Women. Asa Vermette (Frameworks Racing) is 2nd and Dedora is 10th among Junior Men, while Melton and Kushman are 5th and 7th overall for Junior Women. The MTB World Cup heads to Val di Sole, Italy, June 14-16.

Unbound Gravel: Emporia, Kansas
(June 1) – It was a day of dramatic finishes at Unbound Gravel in Kansas, with men’s and women’s winners decided by mere seconds after hundreds of miles of racing. In the elite men’s 200 mile race, Texan Chad Haga (Pas Racing) placed 2nd after crossing the line one second behind Australian Lachlan Morton (EF Education-EasyPost) after dueling it out in a two-man sprint. Lachlan and Haga posted the two fastest times ever at Unbound, completing the course in 9:11:47 and 9:11:48, respectively.
The elite women’s 200-mile race ended in a 9-rider sprint, with the top American, Paige Onweller, placing 3rd in 10:26:03, behind German winner Rosa Klos̈er. Heather Jackson placed 5th in the same time, with Sarah Sturm, Hannah Otto and Lauren De Crescenzo placing 7th-9th.
Pan Am Road Champion Lauren Stephens (Cynisca Cycling) won the elite women’s 100-mile race in 5:06:40, coming in nearly 16 minutes ahead of the next finisher. Cycling coach and mountain biker Elliot Baring took first on the elite men’s side in a five-man sprint, completing the race in 4:56:30. Georgia’s Jim Snitzer placed 3rd and Spencer Miller was 5th, coming in one second and three seconds behind Baring.
Hundreds of cyclists in a variety of categories rode Unbound, which offered courses ranging from 25 miles to 350 miles.
