Grant Check-in Spotlight: Mt. Hebron Cycling Club

As one of our Everyone Rides: Community Impact Grant recipients, Mt. Hebron Cycling Club is making waves in their local community by providing young riders with the skills, confidence, and support to succeed both on and off the bike! We're thrilled to see the incredible progress they’re making, and proud to support their mission to empower future generations of cyclists.

"Many thanks to the USA Cycling Organization for helping us acquire safe MIPS Helmets from Giro and stunning race jerseys from the Senders Union.  The students are super grateful to be in matching attire and caught a lot of attention looking sharp.  A huge congratulations to Anna Cucuzzella for her podium finish as she finished fourth place at the Montgomery County race held by the Maryland Interscholastic Cycling Association.  Having the helmets and jerseys provided confidence in looking good while also ensuring they had safe, properly fitting helmets.  Day 1 of the event included pre-riding the course multiple times where students could become comfortable with their bikes on the trails.  Day 2 provided a race day where students could race each other in a head to head competition OR complete an adventure ride within their skill groups with other students from around the state.  There were tons of smiles to be seen and absolutely no one felt out of place the entire weekend.  We were able to provide grilled lunches and nutritional snacks throughout the event.  We have more events in the future.  Our next event is at Deep Creek State park where students will embark on a 2 hour journey through the rough terrain of Western Maryland.  We are ready for teamwork and comradery."
