UCI MTB World Cup: Araxá, Minas Gerais, Brazil
(April 19-21) – Weekend two of racing in Brazil brought more podium results for Team USA, with Riley Amos (Trek Factory Racing) and Bjorn Riley (Trek Future Racing) kicking off three days of racing by taking 1st and 2nd in the U23 men’s short track race.
Amos won the next day’s U23 XCO, his fourth win in two weeks of World Cup racing. Riley placed 4th.
Haley Batten (Specialized Factory Racing) swept both of her races, placing 1st in elite women’s short track and 1st in XCO. It was Batten’s first elite women’s XCO World Cup win. Savilia Blunk(Decathlon/Ford) podiumed for her first time in elite women’s XCC, taking 3rd, then took 3rd the next day in elite women’s XCO.
Christopher Blevins (Specialized Factory Racing) added to his medal haul, taking 2nd in elite men’s XCC. Madigan Munro (Trek Factory Racing) placed 6th in U23 women’s XCC and XCO.
Next up in the UCI Mountain Bike World Series is downhill racing at Fort William, Scotland, May 3-5.

BMX RACING
UCI BMX Racing World Cup, Rounds 5 and 6: Tulsa, Oklahoma
(April 27-28) – 12-time national champion Alise Willoughby podiumed two days in a row, placing 3rdon day one and 2nd on day two of BMX World Cup racing, held at Hardesty National BMX Stadium in Tulsa, OK.
Other day 1 action saw Cameron Wood place 6th in the elite men’s final, and Felicia Stancil taking 7th in the elite women’s final. James Cutter Williams and Sean Day placed 7th and 8th in the U23 men’s final.
Reigning U23 national champion McKenzie Gayheart won the U23 women’s race on Day 2, while Kamren Larsen place 3rd in the elite men’s final, with Cameron Wood taking 6th again.
With round 6 completing the season, Team USA earned numerous top results in the overall standings. Alise Willoughby finished 3rd and Felicia Stancil 7th for Elite Women; Kamren Larsen was 4th for Elite Men, and James Cutter Williams ranked 8th for U23 men.
Next up for Team USA: the BMX Racing World Championships in Rock Hill, S.C., May 12-18.

Omloop van Borsele: Borsele, Netherlands
(April 20) – Lily Williams (Human Powered Health) took 7th at the 133 kilometer, one-day pro woman’s race in the Netherlands.

Tour de Romandie: Switzerland
(April 23-28) – Americans swept the top two spots at Stage 3’s Tour de Romandie time trial, with Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates) placing 1st and Magnus Sheffield (INEOS Grenadiers) taking 2nd. McNulty, the reigning time trial national champion, made quick work of the 15.5 km stage, crossing the line in 20:06. Sheffield was another 13 seconds back.
It was McNulty’s second individual time trial stage win this season. He’d previously won the time trial at the UAE Tour.

Vuelta España Feminina: Spain
(April 28-May 5) – Kristen Faulkner (EF Education-Cannondale) launched a late attack on a downhill with just 7km to earn a solo win on Stage 4 at the women’s Tour of Spain. Faulkner also moved up 19 spots to 3rd place overall on GC.
Lily Williams (Human Powered Health) placed 5th on Stage 3 and Faulkner was 10th on Stage 2. In addition to Williams and Faulkner, American Veronica Ewers (EF Education-Cannondale) is competing in the eight-stage race, which concludes May 5 near Madrid.
