What’s so great about being part of a cycling club? Community. Advocacy. Social life. Competition. Skills. Fun. Giving back to your tribe. There are many reasons to join an existing cycling club - or start your own. Our cycling club listing can help you find the Club that is right for you.
For years, not only were clubs host to countless weeknight and weekend organized rides but they were THE place for beginners to learn basic riding (and racing) skills from more experienced riders - skills that had been passed down to them by the generations of riders who came before. Clubs have been the keepers of that historical knowledge - how to ride safely in a group, how to race, how put on a race and much more. They’ve also been key organizers in their communities - voices for safer streets, bike lanes and cyclists’ rights.
Many clubs have it in their mission statements to be welcoming to ALL riders. Others have a strict racing focus. Regardless of the focus, broadly speaking all clubs are interested in the social aspects of the sport and making riding safer and more fun for everybody. What follows is a tool kit for clubs that features information for teaching skills for riding, skills for racing and much more that will make everybody safer, more skilled and promote having fun on the bike.
