Nineteen-year-old Ashlin Barry placed 5th in a stacked field, while 36-year-old Taylor Phinney, newly returned from retirement, rode to 8th.

On the third day of the 2026 UCI Track World Championships, Team USA competed in the Men’s Individual Pursuit, Women’s Omnium, Men’s 1K Time Trial, and Men’s Points Race.

Men’s Individual Pursuit

Ashlin Barry (Toronto, Ont.; JEGG - SKIL - DJR) and Taylor Phinney (Boulder, Colo.) both represented the U.S. in the individual pursuit on Friday.

Barry, fresh off his U23 Road Race World Title, delivered a blistering qualifying ride of 4:02.304, averaging nearly 40 miles per hour. The time placed the 19-year-old fifth in an incredibly stacked field.

Phinney, who won this event in 2009 and 2010, has come out of retirement at 36 with his sights set on the Olympics in the Team Pursuit. He also took a shot at the Individual Pursuit, posting a 4:05.529 to land inside the top ten after nearly seven years away from the velodrome.

Results:
1. Jonathan Milan (ITA) – 3:58.850
2. Frederick Madsen (DEN) – +1.129
3. Filippo Ganna (ITA) – +2.126
5. Ashlin Barry (USA) – +3.454
8. Taylor Phinney (USA) – +6.679

Women’s Omnium

Megan Jastrab (Apple Valley, Calif.; UAE Team ADQ) had a tough day in the Women’s Omnium. A major crash disrupted the field early in the Scratch Race, and she finished 19th once the group came back together. She bounced back to take 9th in the Tempo Race, then placed 20th in the Elimination Race. Jastrab entered the final Points Race with 30 points, but unfortunately lost a lap on the field, leaving her 19th overall.

Results:
1. Anna Morris (GBR) – 125 points
2. Tsuyaka Uchino (JPN) – 114 points
3. Amalie Dideriksen (DEN) – 107 points
19. Megan Jastrab (USA) – 10 points

Men’s 1K Time Trial

Anders Johnson (Huntsville, Utah) made his debut in the 1K Time Trial, a middle-distance event where sprinters and endurance riders alike race against the clock. Averaging 36 mph over the kilometer, he finished in 1:01.700 placing him in 16th.

Results:
1. Jeffrey Hoogland (NED) – 58.680
2. Etienne Oliviero (FRA) – +0.204
3. Joseph Truman (GBR) – +0.552

Men’s Points Race

Peter Moore (Saint Paul, Minn.) lined up for the Points Race after winning silver in the event at last year’s World Championships. It wasn’t his day to contend for a medal, and he ultimately finished 15th.

Results:
1. Mark Stewart (GBR) – 35 points
2. Benjamin Thomas (FRA) – 28 points
3. Carlos Salgueiro (PRT) – 27 points
15. Peter Moore (USA) – -15 points
