Marian University Earns Team Omnium Win at Collegiate BMX Nationals

Cameron Wing and Violet Cejalvo win individual titles.

It was an action-packed weekend in Springfield, Missouri for the 2024 USA Cycling Collegiate BMX National Championships. With two busy days of racing, Marian University reclaimed the top spot in the battle for the team omnium title.

Collegiate Women

The collegiate women fought hard until the very end. Marian University rider, Violet Cejalvo (Langley, Calif.: Marian University), ranked third in points going into day two of racing. There, she battled to end up on top and finished the weekend with a gold medal. Marian University’s Alexandra Hill (Sauk Rapids, Minn.: Marian University) took second place, and Breanna Winter (Antelope, Calif.: Marian University) rounded out the podium in third.

Collegiate Men

Marian University’s Cameron Wing (Enchanted Oaks, Texas: Marian University) was the points leader heading into Sunday and finished the weekend taking his first individual National Championship title. Lindsey Wilson College’s Spencer Cole (Palm Harbor, Fla: Lindsey Wilson College) grabbed second, while Zaine Stenson (Maple Valley, Wash.: Colorado Mesa University) finished in third.

Team Omnium

Within the individual races lies the competition for the best overall school for the weekend. Marian University ended the event with a total of 312 points, claiming their ninth team omnium win. Lindsey Wilson College finished in second with 286 points, and Lindenwood University rounded out the podium, finishing in third with 262 points.
