Rue Tomko Kicks Off Second Day of the 2026 UCI Junior Track World Championships
On the second day of the 2026 UCI Junior Track World Championships, Rue Tomko (Bellevue, Wash.; Jerry Baker Juniors) took on the Women’s Elimination Race at the Heusden-Zolder Velodrome, lining up among a field of 23 starters.
In a race defined by constant jockeying for position, Tomko stayed composed as she worked her way through the group. As the pace increased and the field tightened, moving up became increasingly difficult. Tomko was eventually eliminated after six rounds, finishing 18th in her World Championships debut.
Tomorrow, Emma Jimenez Palos (Miami, Fla.; City Bikes Miami Racing) returns to the track following her Scratch Race victory yesterday. She will take on the four-race Omnium throughout the day.
