Team USA Finishes Sixth in Team Relay at the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships
The Team Relay opened racing in Crans-Montana at the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. This unique event brings together riders from every category – junior, U23, and elite – each completing one lap of the full XCO course in a six-lap, high-intensity showdown.
All week, the weather kept riders guessing. Rain swept through each evening, followed by bursts of sunshine, leaving the course slick but never fully dried out. The features rode fast, demanding a fine balance between caution and speed.
Team USA had a strong squad lined up for the relay including Riley Amos (Durango, Colo.; Trek Factory Racing), Haley Batten (Park City, Utah; Specialized Factory Racing), Dan English (San Ramon, Calif.; Trinity Racing), Vida Lopez de San Roman (Sebastopol, Calif.; Trinity Racing), Benjamin Bravman (Golden, Colo.; Bear National Team), and Ingrid McElroy (Danville, Pa.; Bear National Team).
English set the tone for Team USA with a strong opening lap, putting the squad into 9th position. Junior rider Bravman followed, emptying the tank to hold the spot. Olympic silver medalist Batten lit up the course with the second-fastest women’s lap of the day, charging past the field and moving the team into sixth. McElroy kept the momentum steady with a consistent ride before Lopez de San Roman stayed composed through the technical sections riding a strong lap. Amos brought it home, giving everything to the line and securing a 6th-place finish for Team USA.
