The World Championships were open to qualified men and women riders 35 years of age and older and featured a wide spectrum of track events including: three sprint events – match sprints, 500-750-1000m time trial, team sprint – and four endurance events – pursuit, scratch race, points race, and team pursuit.
The VELO Sports Center and Los Angeles – future home to the 2028 Olympic Games – proved to be an exciting venue for the thousands of athletes, families, friends and spectators who attended from more than 30 countries. The world-class venue did not disappoint with fast and aggressive racing that saw numerous world records established.
As the host country, Team USA put up a strong performance and finished on top of the medal count earning 132 medals – including 47 gold medals – and capturing more than 50 percent of the available medals.
