The Ultimate 3-Day Mountain Biking Road Trip in Central Arkansas

Love mountain biking? Arkansas has a 3-day road trip with your name on it.

Arkansas has earned a reputation as one of the country's premier mountain biking destinations, and the central part of the state deserves a spot on every rider's list. Here, you'll find scenic mountain overlooks, purpose-built trails for every skill level, vibrant downtowns, great food, local beer and plenty to do once the ride is over. Spend three days exploring three distinct trail systems, each with its own personality and plenty of reasons to stick around long after you've left the trail.

Day 1: Mount Nebo & the Arkansas River Valley

Kick off your trip at Mount Nebo State Park, where Arkansas' nationally recognized Monument Trails combine world-class trail design with some of the state's most spectacular scenery. Expect a little of everything, from flowing singletrack to technical rock features with sweeping overlooks that make every climb worth the effort. After the ride, head into nearby Russellville for a pint at Point Remove Brewing Company, a downtown favorite known for its craft beer and artisan pizza or catch live music and soak up the local vibe at bike themed Handlebar. If you need any gear for the rest of the trip, stop by and see the folks at Jackalope Cycling. Then end the day back at your cabin on Mount Nebo with a view overlooking the Arkansas River Valley.

Day 2: Pinnacle Mountain & Little Rock

Just an hour from Mount Nebo, Pinnacle Mountain State Park offers another take on Arkansas riding. The Monument Trails at Pinnacle Mountain blending singletrack, technical sections and wooded terrain just minutes from the heart of Little Rock. After your ride, head to the historic Hillcrest neighborhood for a bite and a beer on the patio at Hill Station, a favorite gathering spot for locals. Spend the evening exploring the River Market District or strolling along the Arkansas River before settling in for the night at the historic Capital Hotel in downtown Little Rock.

Day 3: Northwoods Trails & Hot Springs

Wrap up your adventure at the Northwoods Trails in Hot Springs, an easy hour from Little Rock, where miles of purpose-built singletrack wind through the Ouachita Mountains with routes suited for every skill level. Afterward, give your legs the recovery they deserve with a soak or spa treatment at one of Hot Springs' historic bathhouses. Then stop by Superior Bathhouse Brewery, the only brewery in the world to brew beer using thermal spring water. Grab a pizza at the nationally acclaimed Deluca's Pizzeria before checking into the luxurious Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort. Cap off the trip with a little excitement by trying your luck at the casino or simply unwinding after three unforgettable days on the trail.
