This weekend, 76 athletes competed for the coveted Stars and Stripes jersey at the 2024 USA Cycling Madison Track National Championships.
Racing began Friday evening at the Lexus Velodrome with non-championship events, followed by three championship Madison races. The Masters Men 35+ and Masters Men 45+ categories each raced 120 laps, while the Co-Ed Madison competitors completed 80 laps.
In the Masters Men 35+ race, Team Yellow, comprised of Kyle Perry (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Martin Vecchio (Detroit, Mich.), earned the win with 37 points, 17 points ahead of second place. In the Masters Men 45+ race, Kevin Phillips (Redondo Beach, Calif.) and Jason Meidhof (Denver, Colo.) of Team Red captured the coveted Stars and Stripes jersey, earning a total of 48 points.
In the Co-Ed Madison, Team Pink's Stephanie Lawrence (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Jackson Clary (Westfield, Ind.) delivered a strong performance, earning the win with 46 points.

2. Team Black – SuperDave Koesel (San Juan Bautista) and Lance Coburn (Oceanside, Calif.)
3. Team Brown – Michael Hartrick (Auburn Hills, Mich.) and Charles Moore (Plymouth, Mich.)
1. Team Pink – Stephanie Lawrence (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Jackson Clary (Westfield, Ind.)
2. Team Blue – Jessica Chong (Allentown, Pa.) and Zachary Kovalcik (Portland, Ore.)
3. Team Purple – Lily Kendall (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and Louis Bonilla (Long Beach, Calif.)
Day two opened with the Men’s 15-18 Madison race, where Team Green took control. Ashlin Barry (Toronto, Ontario) and Enzo Edmonds (Brooklyn, N.Y.) lapped the field, splintering the group early in the race. They earned a total of 56 points and the overall win.
The second championship event of the evening featured a combined Madison race, bringing together the Elite Women, Masters Women 35+, and Junior Women 15-18 categories. Team Brown, comprised of Chong (Allentown, Pa.) and Lawrence, claimed first place. Team Yellow, with Kate Wilson (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Kendall secured second, while Team White, featuring Akira Edmonds (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Jillian Halm (Allentown, Pa.), rounded out the podium in third.
In the penultimate race of the evening, the Junior Men 13-14 and Junior Women 13-14 competed together. Team Orange, consisting of Arjuna Burgos (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Sebastian Pena (South Gate, Calif.), claimed first place with 50 points.
The evening concluded with the 180-lap Elite Men’s Madison race, where Barry and Edmonds battled against six teams to claim victory in a sprint to the line, earning their second win of the night.
