USA cycling is proud to announce a four-year partnership with GymAware, the global leader in velocity-based training technology. GymAware’s products are widely regarded as the gold standard, backed by over 23 years of legacy in the field.
As part of this collaboration, GymAware has recently provided weight room performance monitoring equipment to support the USA Cycling track sprint team in Carson, California. The partnership will give track sprint athletes and coaches access to real-time data and insights to inform daily training and support individualized programs designed to optimize performance.
“Partnering with GymAware is a major step forward for USA Cycling’s Track Sprint Program. Their precise measurement tools and performance analytics give our coaches and athletes the insights needed to refine training, optimize power, and track progress accurately. This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to using world-class technology to develop athletes and elevate our sprint program on the international stage,” said Craig Griffin, USA Cycling’s Senior Track Director.
The GymAware RS is the world’s only Linear Positional Transducer (LPT) with angle correction, providing precise data on velocity, power, and movement patterns, plus actionable metrics to optimize strength training. GymAware’s FLEX device is a laser-based VBT system built on the same principles, offering a more accessible option for teams and athletes. Together, these products, supported by a sophisticated software suite, provide coaches with flexible solutions to manage and enhance training programs at all levels.
“For decades, we've been committed to one mission: equipping elite athletes with the most precise tools available. USA Cycling's partnership with GymAware represents the pinnacle of that commitment. When one of the world's leading cycling organizations trusts our technology to unlock peak performance, it’s both humbling and motivating. This collaboration drives our relentless pursuit of innovation, pushing us to refine every detail and deliver the gold-standard tools that separate champions from the rest.”, said Evan Lawton, Founder of GymAware.
Antonio Squillante, Head of Sport Performance and Training for the USA Cycling National Track Sprint Program, said, “At this level of sport, there is no room to compromise. We have tested other velocity-based training products, but GymAware’s accuracy and coaching experience are unmatched. The value of this accuracy for us goes way beyond program design; it ties into our athlete monitoring strategy which is a fundamental pillar in our approach to in-season training and allows us to bring our athletes at the peak of their performance for competition. Choosing GymAware was easy, and our athletes can now train with the gold standard they deserve."
