The 2025 UCI BMX Racing World Championships are heading to Copenhagen, Denmark, from August 2-3. The track is well-known for hosting top-level international events, including World Cups from 2008 to 2010 and the 2011 World Championships.
Nine athletes from Team USA will line up in the starting gate. Paris 2024 Olympians Daleny Vaughn (Tucson, Ariz.; Biolab Sciences/DK Bicycles), Cameron Wood (Bozeman, Mont.; Mongoose/USA BMX Foundation), and Kamren Larsen(Bakersfield, Calif.; Factory SSquared/Answer) will headline the team. Vaughn and Wood have had standout seasons this year, both earning World Cup podiums in 2025.
Joining Vaughn, Wood, and Larsen are Drew Polk (Avon, Ind.; Factory Syndyt/LSG), Payton Ridenour (Pottstown; Penn.; Union Square Sneakers), Keiley Shea (La Habra, Calif.; 316 Racing), Evan Esposito (Palm Springs, Fla.; Albe’s Bike Shop), Alexis Alden (Peachtree City, Ga.; Albe’s Bike Shop), and Derin Merten (Tempe, Ariz.; Race Inc.), all delivering impressive performances in their respective categories throughout the World Cup season this year. Vaughn and Larsen scored their World Championship nominations after finishing the 2024 season in the top eight of the UCI rankings. Reigning Elite Women’s World Champion Alise Willoughby (Saint Cloud, Minn.; Team Toyota/Daylight Cycle Co.) will not compete, as she is expecting a baby later this year.
