USA Cycling Announces the 2026 UCI Road World Championships Team

The 2026 UCI Road World Championships are headed to North America, with the world’s best road cyclists set to compete in Montréal, Canada, September 20-27.

Following a busy summer of racing that saw several Americans compete at the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes, the U.S. team is ready to take on the world and race for the coveted rainbow jerseys.

On the elite men’s side, three-time Road Race National Champion Quinn Simmons (Durango, Colo.; Lidl-Trek) will headline the American squad. Simmons enters the World Championships after a strong Tour de France, where he won the Best Teammate Award. Simmons will be joined by fellow Tour de France riders Matteo Jorgenson (Boise, Idaho; Visma | Lease a Bike), Brandon McNulty (Phoenix, Ariz.; UAE Team Emirates-XRG) and Sean Quinn (Los Angeles, Calif.; EF Education-EasyPost).

Elite Time Trial National Champion Artem Shmidt (Cumming, Ga.; Netcompany INEOS) will look to carry his momentum from the U.S. National Championships into Montréal after capturing the elite men’s time trial title earlier this season. Rounding out the team are Kevin Vermaerke (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; UAE Team Emirates-XRG), Neilson Powless (Roseville, Calif.; EF Education-EasyPost), and Larry Warbasse (Traverse City, Mich.; Tudor Pro Cycling Team).

The elite women’s team will feature Olympic Champion Kristen Faulkner (Homer, Alaska; EF-Oatly-Cannondale), who will look to add another major international result to her already impressive resume. 

A former World Champion in the cross-country and marathon mountain bike disciplines, Kate Courtney (Kenfield, Calif.; FDJ United-Suez) will make her Road World Championships debut after winning the National Title earlier this year. Triathlete and Olympic time trialist Taylor Knibb (Boulder, Colo.) will also make her Road World Championships debut in the individual time trial.

Natalie Quinn (Harrisville, Utah; Mayenne Pro Cycling) will return to the world stage after making her WorldTour debut at this year’s Tour de France Femmes. After returning to European road racing for the 2026 season with EF-Oatly-Cannondale, Alexis Magner (Athens, Ga.; EF-Oatly-Cannondale) will bring her experience to the American team.

Rounding out the team are Aegis X Leaders of Enchantment teammates Lauren Stephens (Dallas) and Grace Arlandson (Boulder, Colo.). Stephens enters the World Championships fresh off winning the Sprint Jersey at the Philadelphia Cycling Classic, while Arlandson will make her mark on the international stage alongside her teammate.
