USA Cycling Announces the 2026 UCI Track World Championships Team

By: Angelina Palermo  October 01, 2026

17 riders will compete at the Track World Championships in Shanghai, China October 14-18, 2026

The 2026 UCI Track World Championships will take place October 14-18 in Shanghai, China, where the U.S. team will look to build momentum on the road to LA28. USA Cycling has nominated a star-studded squad for this year’s Track World Championships, bringing together a mix of returning World Championship medalists, rising stars, and experienced veterans.

Fresh off the 2026 UCI Road World Championships, Ashlin Barry (Toronto, Ont.; JEGG - SKIL - DJR), Kristen Faulkner (Homer, Alaska; EF-Oatly-Cannondale), and Emma Jimenez Palos  (Miami, Fla.; City Bikes Miami Racing) went directly to Carson, Calif., for team camp ahead of the Track World Championships.

Barry is fresh off a historic Road World Championships, where the 19-year-old won Team USA’s first-ever U23 Men’s Road Race World Title and finished fourth in the U23 Time Trial. Faulkner, a Paris 2024 Olympic gold medalist in the Women’s Team Pursuit, finished 21st in the Elite Women’s Road Race. Jimenez Palos is also coming off a breakthrough championship season, winning the Junior Scratch Race World Title earlier this year before making her Road World Championships debut in Montréal.

Barry returns to the Track World Championships after helping the U.S. Men’s Team Pursuit squad make history in 2025. Alongside Graeme Frislie (Paradise, Australia; CCACHE x Bodywrap), Anders Johnson (Huntsville, Utah), and Grant Koontz (Nederland, Colo.; Star Track Cycling), Barry helped the team reach the Men’s Team Pursuit final, where the squad finished fourth. It marked Team USA’s best result in the event since 1995, when the U.S. last won a World Championships medal in the discipline.

The men’s endurance squad returns with an added layer of experience this year as Taylor Phinney (Boulder, Colo.), a two-time Individual Pursuit World Champion, comes out of retirement to join the Team Pursuit squad. Peter Moore (Saint Paul, Minn.), who earned a medal in the Points Race at last year’s World Championships, and Brendan Rhim (Norwich, Vt.; Project Echelon) round out the men’s endurance squad.

On the women’s endurance side, Faulkner and Jimenez Palos will be joined by Bethany Ingram (Warrington, Pa.; TWENTY28 Pro Cycling), Megan Jastrab (Apple Valley, Calif.; UAE Team ADQ), Stephanie Lawrence (Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Anna Hicks (Boulder, Colo.; Virginia's Blue Ridge TWENTY28).

The American sprint squad will also look to build on a historic performance from last year. In 2025, Kayla Hankins (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Emily Hayes (York, S.C.), and Hayley Yoslov (Corte Madera, Calif.) became the first U.S. women’s team to advance to the first round of the Women’s Team Sprint at the World Championships. The trio ultimately finished seventh, recording the best-ever World Championships result for the U.S. program in the event. McKenna McKee (Vancouver, Wash.) joins the sprint squad in Shanghai and will compete alongside Hankins, Hayes, and Yoslov in the team and individual sprint events as Team USA looks to continue building on its progress.
