Wimberley and Morozowich Earn Junior 15-16 XCO Titles at the 2026 Endurance Mountain Bike National Championships

The 2026 USA Cycling Endurance Mountain Bike National Championships concluded Sunday at Explore Park after an electric week of championship racing. 

The morning kicked off with 114 junior men taking on three laps of the elite course. After the prologue and opening lap, seven riders led the pack, all within four seconds of each other. As the race progressed, Greyson Wimberley (Gravette, Ark.; OZ Racing) worked his way to the front and put himself in position for the final lap. Wimberley turned in the fastest lap of the race to open a 19-second advantage over Axel Farnham (Columbus, Ohio; Donovan Racing), securing the win and completing a sweep of the XCM, XCC, and XCO national titles. Isaac Sproule (Medical Lake, Wash.; Team Booger) finished third, 26 seconds back.

After the race, Wimberley said, “This means a lot to me to get the triple win over the past couple of weekends here, and I’m super excited for the Stars and Stripes. I’m so thankful for my team and family for supporting me.”

Next up, a huge field of 102 racers lined up to battle for their chance to claim the Stars and Stripes in the Junior Women’s 15-16 race. Anna Morozowich (Scottsdale, Ariz.; Bear National Team) and Zoe LeClair (Cottonwood Heights, Utah; Rouleur Devo p/b DNA Cycling) took an early lead before Morozowich began to pull away on the first lap. By the end of the opening lap, she had built a 16-second advantage over LeClair. LeClair closed the gap to just three seconds on the final lap, but Morozowich held on to secure her second national title of the week. Harley Deters (Park City, Utah; Altus Racing) earned bronze.

“My race went really great, had a good start, and I was able to get a small gap early into the second lap”, said Morozowich. “Then, towards the end of lap two, I had little bobbles, but I was able to move past them and stay away. I’m just so excited to wear both national jerseys next year.”

Racing returned to the 3.4-mile red course as the Masters Men 40+ waves closed out the day and the weekend. A brief rainstorm added some mud to the course and slightly altered conditions for the Men’s 60+ races. After battling through the prologue with defending champion Tristan Schouten (Plymouth, Wis.; Threshold Sports Carbon Repair), Brian McCulloch (Yucaipa, Calif.; Big Wheel Coaching) was able to slip away to secure the Stars and Stripes in the 40-44 race. Joel LaFrance (Plymouth, Minn.; Donkey Label Racing) delivered a strong performance in the 45-49 category to win gold. Justin Thomas (Reno, Nev.; TCI Wealth Advisors) retained the 50-54 national title for another year. Gregg Galletta (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.; Dirt Camp Racing) took the win in the 55-59 category. The Stars and Stripes jersey transferred to Victor Sheldon (Vista, Calif.; Specialized/Hammer/Baghouse) after he won the 60-64 race by nearly four minutes. Ashley Johnson (Scottsdale, Ariz.) took home gold in the 65-69 field. Roy Gryskevich (New Cumberland, W.Va.; Frankford Mountain Bike Racing Team p/b Pactimo) won the 70-74 race. Robert Ogren (Bloomington, Minn.; NorthStar Development) claimed the Stars and Stripes jersey in the 75-79 category. After claiming the Masters Men 75-79 national title last year, Stan Ford (Temecula, Calif.; The Bike Shop) moved into the 80-84 category this year and continued his run with another national title.

After two successful years, Endurance Mountain Bike Nationals will return to Virginia’s Blue Ridge for a third year in 2027.
