Meet the Athlete

Christina began cycling with the MIT Cycling Team while working on her PhD. She raced UCI cyclocross with the JAM Fund before moving to LA and transitioning to track cycling full time. She is an 11x National Champion, 3x World Cup Medalist, 2x PanAmerican Games Gold Medalist, and has represented the USA at multiple World Championships.

What is your favorite movie and/or book and why?

Favorite Movie: Interstellar. I love realistic space movies and hard scifi. I'm definitely a nerd.

What is something you would tell your younger self if you could go back in time?

You can't do everything. Be prepared to let some things go in order to become very, very good at a few things. The tradeoff will be worth it.

What is one of the most pivotal experiences you've had that helped get you to where you are today?

I guided my first whitewater rafting expedition down Desolation Canyon on the Green River when I was 16. I remember my first really advanced rapid. My adrenaline soared looking at those big waves and holes that could easily flip the boat. It was scary. But as soon as I was in the rapid, I was just paddling and working to avoid the dangerous rocks and waves, working with the current, completely present, engaged, and in the zone.
