Meet the Athlete

After being paralyzed in a motocross crash in 2011, Cody Wills spent years rebuilding his life and searching for a new competitive outlet. In 2018, he discovered para-cycling and immediately fell in love with the sport. As a lifelong racer, his first handcycle race reminded him how much he loved competing and reignited the passion for racing that had defined so much of his life before his injury. From that moment on, he was determined to pursue the sport at the highest level.

Wills career highlights include winning multiple U.S. National Championship titles, representing Team USA at UCI Para-cycling World Cups and World Championships, and competing at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Since 2023, he has consistently ranked among the top H2 athletes in the world and has his sights set on the LA28 Paralympic Games.

Away from competition, Wills enjoys encouraging others with spinal cord injuries to pursue adaptive sports and challenge themselves in new ways. He hopes his journey demonstrates that life after a spinal cord injury can still be filled with purpose, adventure, and opportunities to chase new dreams.
