Cody Wills, a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, turned to handcycling after a 2011 motocross accident left him with a severe spinal cord injury. Inspired by fellow Pennsylvanian and U.S. teammate Brandon Lyons, Wills began pursuing Para-cycling seriously after attending a talent ID camp in 2019. He made his World Cup debut in 2023 and earned silver and bronze medals at the World Cup Final in Alabama.
At age 34, Wills made his Paralympic debut at the Paris 2024 Games, finishing 5th in the H1-2 Road Race and 6th in the Time Trial, an impressive showing despite battling a severe illness. At the 2023 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships, Wills placed 4th in the road race and 7th in the time trial marking his top international results to date.
