Meet the Athlete

Morelli was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1996 as an engineer officer in the U.S. Army. She is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the war in Afghanistan.

After being injured in the military, a trip to a local bike shop and exposure to competitive cycling at the 2010 Warrior Games helped begin her cycling career.

Shawn has made 3 appearances at the Paralympic Games: Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024, earning 3 gold medals and 1 silver. She has made 15 World Championship appearances across the Track and Road disciplines, earning a total of 17 medals: 12 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze.
