125 National Titles Awarded at the 2025 USA Cycling Masters & Para-cycling Track National Championships

Twenty-seven national records and 10 world records were set throughout the week of competition at Masters & Para-cycling Track Nationals.

Over 200 athletes from around the country came together August 6-10 at the Colorado Springs Velodrome to compete for the Stars and Stripes at the 2025 USA Cycling Masters & Para-cycling Track National Championships. Over the course of five days of racing, 125 national titles were awarded, 27 new national records were set, and 10 world records were broken.

Day 1

Riders kicked off the first morning of competition with Individual Pursuit, 500m Time Trial, and Sprint Qualifying events. The evening session included Para-cycling C2-5 and Blind Tandem Kilo Time Trials, Sprint finals, Points Race, and Scratch Race events. Twenty-seven riders took home the Stars and Stripes jersey on the first day, while four national records and two world records were set. Brian Abers (Colorado Springs, Colo.; Brihop Coaching) flew through the Men’s 60-64 500m Time Trial in a time of 34.485, earning him a national record. Tracy LaMarche (Easley, S.C.; Team Hopfly) established a new national record in the Women’s C2 1000m Time Trial with her time of 33.745. Charlottee Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo.; COS Racing) set a national record and a world record in the Women’s 70-74 200m Time Trial with her time of 13.341, while Lisa Nutter (Philadelphia, Pa.; Ero Sports p/b Alliance Environmental) set a national record and a world record in the Women’s 60-64 200m Time Trial with her time of 12.346.

Day 2

The athletes brought the heat for the second day of racing, setting five national records and four world records. Thomas Gibbons (Cape May Court House, N.J.; Automatic Racing) set a new national record in the Men’s 3-kilometer Individual Pursuit with a time of 3:23.049. Joshua McDonald (Walnut Creek, Calif.; Performance Cycle Coaching) clocked a time of 1:04.217 in the Men’s 45-49 100m Time Trial, setting a new national record. Diane Percy (Colorado Springs, Colo.; Hammer Racing Team p/b Thorne) set a national record and a world record with her time of 2:32.513 in the Women’s 60-64 2-kilometer Pursuit. Mary Ellen Allen (La Jolla, Calif.; Ironfly) rode her Women’s 75-79 2-kilometer Individual Pursuit in a time of 3:07.432, earning her a national record and a world record. John Hines (San Diego, Calif.; Hammer Nutrition) set a national record and a world record for the Men’s 75-79 200m Time Trial with his time of 12.175. Missy Schwab (Pottstown, Pa.; Ero Sports p/b Alliance Environmental) flew through the Women’s 35-39 500m Time Trial in a time of 35.564, earning her a world record. After a busy day of racing, 29 riders took home gold medals.

Day 3

Records continued to fall on Friday at Masters & Para-cycling Track Nationals, with riders setting five new national records and one new world record. Aaron Miller (Erie, Colo.; Primal Audi - Denver) broke the national record for the Men’s 40-44 1000m Time Trial with his time of 1:02.985. Lisa Nutter (Philadelphia, Pa.; Ero Sports p/b Alliance Environmental) rode a powerfully paced 39.375 in the Women’s 60-64 500m Time Trial, earning her second national record of the week. Andrew Weathers (Houston, Texas; Atomic) clocked a time of 10.436 in the Men’s 55-59 200m Time Trial, setting a new national record. Branden Walton (Livermore, Calif.) and his pilot Ian Anderson set a new national record in the Men’s B (Tandem) 4-kilometer Individual Pursuit with their time of 4:10.631. Brian Abers (Colorado Springs, Colo.; Brihop Coaching) flew through the Men’s 60-64 200m Time Trial with a time of 10.725, setting a new world record and his second national record of the week. Thirty-one athletes earned the coveted Stars and Stripes jersey as the third day came to a close.

The momentum did not disappoint on the penultimate day of competition at Masters & Para-Cycling Track Nationals. Twenty-nine riders added the Stars and Stripes to their collection, while five national records and three world records were set. Missy Schwab (Pottstown, Pa.; Ero Sports p/b Alliance Environmental) rode a powerfully paced time of 11.170 in the Women’s 35-39 200m Time Trial, breaking the national record and earning her second world record of the week. Camie Kornely (Easton, Pa.; Ero Sports p/b Alliance Environmental) followed suit, breaking both the national and world record for the Women’s 50-54 200m Time Trial with her time of 11.930. Steven Troseth (Corvallis, Ore.; Brihop Cycling) clocked a time of 38.652 for the Men’s 75-79 500m Time Trial, earning him a national and a world record. Joshua McDonald (Walnut Creek, Calif.; Performance Cycle Coaching) broke the national record for the Men’s 45-49 200m Time Trial with a time of 10.492, while Stephen McLaughry (Portland, Ore.; Bike Central/Barbur Vet) broke the Men’s 50-54 200m Time Trial national record with his time of 10.669.

Day 5

The final day of racing was all about fast times, teamwork, and record-breaking rides. Michael Stephens & Joe Christiansen (Huntington, W.Va.; Brihop Coaching) and Hannah Chadwick & Elizabeth Stevenson (Colorado Springs, Colo.) took home the Stars and Stripes in the Men’s B (Tandem) Flying 200m and Women’s B (Tandem) Flying 200m, respectively. Jason Macom (Colorado Springs, Colo.) won the national title in the Men’s C4 (Cycling) Sprint. Thirteen teams would grab the gold in Team Pursuit and Team Sprint, with eight of those teams setting new national records. Szwarc/Meidof/Cottell/Baumgart set the Men’s 45+ Team Pursuit (4-kilometer) national record with a time of 4:34.612, while Storey/Paulson/Kissee/Fox set the national record in the Men’s 65+ Team Pursuit (4-kilometer) with a time of 3:39.289. Assali/Makino/Perkins set the national record in the Men’s 35+ Team Sprint (1000m) with a time of 1:04.050, while Villaroman/Nozawa/Treat set the national record in the Women’s 35+ Team Sprint (1000m) with a time of 1:09.912. A new national record of 1:04.011 was set in the Men’s 45+ Team Sprint (1000m) by McDonald/Weathers/Wong. Robinson/Tulley/Bayzaee set a national record in the Men’s 55+ Team Sprint (1000m) with a time of 1:05.682, while Stryk/Afton/Percy set the national record in the Women’s 55+ Team Sprint (1000m) with a time of 1:15.604. A new national record of 1:10.663 was set in the Men’s 65+ Team Sprint (1000m) by Gildea/Sato/Kissee.
