Eight riders will wear the Red, White, and Blue in Roubaix, France.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Cycling announced today the roster for the 2021 UCI Track Cycling World Championships presented by Tissot. Six women and two men will travel to Roubaix, France, to contend for medals. The team is anchored by Olympic Champion Jennifer Valente (San Diego; TWENTY24 Pro Cycling) and current world record holder in the Men’s Individual Pursuit, Ashton Lambie (Lincoln, Neb.; HUUB Wattbike Test Team). Racing runs October 20 through October 24, 2021 at the Vélodrome Couvert Régional Jean-Stablinski.

“After a great performance at the Tokyo Games, with Jennifer’s amazing race to gold in the Women’s Omnium, and Gavin’s solid showing in the Men’s Omnium, plus Ashton’s amazing world record in Aguascalientes, we’re excited to see what Team USA can do in France,” Jeff Pierce, USA Cycling’s Director of Sport Performance.

Valente will be in the spotlight in France, taking on four events, most notably the Omnium. After her win at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Valente is a heavy favorite going into the event. She will also take on the Points Race, Scratch Race, and the Elimination Race. Current Criterium National Champion Kendall Ryan (Ventura, Calif.; L39ion of Los Angeles) will take on the Madison. Fresh off her win at the UCI Track Nation’s Cup in Cali, Columbia in the Individual Pursuit, Lily Williams (Colorado Springs, Colo.; Rally Cycling) will take on that event and join Ryan in the Madison.

After going sub-four minutes in the individual pursuit and setting the world record for the event, Lambie will take his success to the world’s stage in Roubaix. Talking about his next race, he said, “To be the first person to go sub 4 was a huge achievement and years of hard work. Although the clock is consistent, it’s the dynamics of racing that make track cycling so exciting! I’m looking forward to visiting France for the first time, and hopefully have a good result to come home with!”

Gavin Hoover (Manhattan Beach, Calif.; Elevate-Webiplex Pro Cycling), fresh off his top-ten placing at the Tokyo Games, will represent the U.S. in the Omnium, Scratch Race, Points Race, and Elimination Race.

On the sprint side of the event, Tokyo Olympian Madalyn Godby (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and reigning National Champion Mandy Marquardt (Allentown, Pa.; Team Novo Nordisk) will each take on the Keirin and the Match Sprints.
