With much of 2020 cancelled due to COVID-19, USA Cycling is setting its sights on 2021 and providing collegiate athletes with a great year of racing. “We are looking forward to returning to some of the outstanding venues we missed in 2020, as well as some new locations that all promise exciting racing for our collegiate riders and teams,” said Chuck Hodge, Chief of Racing and Events, USA Cycling
Collegiate BMX will kick off the 2021 season with the date and location to be announced.
Collegiate Road returns for a second year to the Peach State in Augusta, Ga, May 7-9.
Collegiate Track Nationals will take place on September 9-11 at the Major Taylor Velodrome in Indianapolis, Ind., home of Marian University.
Collegiate Mountain Bike will make a return to Purgatory Resort in Durango, Colo., the host of the first Mountain Bike World Championships, October 14-17.
Cyclocross Nationals will close the season with a date and location announcement later this year.
In addition to the 2021 Collegiate Nationals schedule, USA Cycling announced the National Collegiate Challenge. Collegiate teams will have the chance to compete against one another in a socially distanced fun format across five challenges this fall semester. Winners will be announced in both Varsity and Club divisions. Details will be announced next week.
