In a year where a lot of our lives went almost completely virtual, it was only a matter of time for the UCI to announce a Cycling Esports World Championships. USA Cycling has been putting on virtual races throughout the year and was able to choose a strong team of indoor specialist and real-life professionals. In this week’s #BecauseBikes interview, we had part of our Esports team talk about their experiences and what was happening behind the scenes of the virtual event. Two of our Director Sportifs, Patrick Walle and Mat Stephens sat down with athlete Lauren Stephens who was the best finisher on the day in fourth.
