In partnership with EF Pro Cycling and Cannondale, USA Cycling is excited to announce a commitment to champion the formation of new cycling programs within Historically Black College and Universities (HBCU) and Tribal College and Universities (TCU) starting in 2021.
Thanks to the support of over 2,500 individuals in the recent EF Pro Cycling / Cannondale bike raffle, the grant program raised an additional $95,000, allowing for an entire additional school to be supported.
The grant is designed to cover core costs associated with launching a new collegiate cycling program – equipment, travel, coaching, race fees, etc. - over a three-year time period. The selected schools will also receive support and guidance from the three organizations to ensure that their programs are set up for long-term sustainability.
The grant application is now live and will close on February 12, 2021.
In addition to receiving the financial grant, the selected schools will be the first invited to participate in USA Cycling’s new Professional Academic Mentorship Program, designed to provide insights and access to careers in the cycling and broader sports industry for current HBCU and TCU students.
