We're excited to highlight collegiate cycling this year throughout the 2022 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships

Cyclocross Clinic and Intro to Collegiate Cycling

Wednesday, July 20 @ 1:00 p.m.

Location: Amphitheater at Rendezvous Event Center in Hideaway Park

Learn about another aspect of the sport of cycling from some of the best collegiate and development cycling coaches in the country! There will be an additional emphasis on cycling opportunities in college as well! Bring your MTB or CX bike! Bring all of the kids; there’s a skate park and playground at the park too! Expect approximately 1.5 hours total. Questions? Call or text Julie Carter at (618) 789-6387.

Collegiate Cycling Information Session

Friday, July 22 @ 6:30 p.m.

Location: Level 6 of West Portal

Learn about the organization and infrastructure of collegiate cycling directly from USA Cycling’s own Justin Evans. After racing for Appalachian State University’s cycling team in college, Justin gained a lot of experience with Club cycling. As USA Cycling’s Racing and Operations Manager, Justin leads the efforts for Club and Varsity Collegiate Cycling as part of his responsibilities. Expect to learn how to start cycling as a Club sport at your college, about cycling scholarships at Varsity programs, and much more! Questions? Call or text Julie Carter at (618) 789-6387.

Downhill Clinic

Saturday, July 26 @ 8:00 a.m.

Location: Outdoors between the Balcony House and the Gondola

Learn more about gravity mountain biking from Winter Park Resort’s gravity coaches and some of the best collegiate cycling coaches in the country. We will start with a walking inspection, and then we will take the lifts up with bikes to ride down. The trails we are selecting are technical and will require appropriate bikes with suspension. There will be an additional emphasis on cycling opportunities in college as well! This will also be a great opportunity to sharpen your DH skills or to be introduced for the first time. The clinic is free, but a lift ticket is required. Including walking inspection, we estimate this to be finished by noon. Expect approximately 4 hours total. Please purchase lift tickets in advance. Questions? Call or text Julie Carter at (618) 789-6387.
