Day three of the 2025 USA Cycling Elite Track National Championships at the Colorado Springs Velodrome was all about strategy, speed, and endurance with eight national titles awarded in Women’s Team Sprint, Women’s Team Pursuit, Men’s Kilo Time Trial, Men’s Points Race, and Women’s Elimination Race events.
Five teams took the track in the afternoon session to race against the clock for their spot in the Women’s Team Sprint final. In a thrilling battle for the Stars and Stripes, Hankins/Hayes/Yoslov outperformed the competition, securing the win and breaking a national record with their time of 1:04.485. Beitzel/Fedewa/McKee put up a strong fight and secured silver with a time of 1:06.597. Martucci/Mattson/Wagner rounded out the podium with bronze.

Dalton Walters (Richardson, Texas) set the bar in heat 10 with a time of 59.571, claiming the Stars and Stripes. David Domonoske (Palo Alto, Calif.; Alto Velo) secured silver with a time of 1:00.976, and Wyatt Paul (Seattle, Wash.; Water Line Racing) rounded out the podium with a time of 1:01.279. Dakota Stein (Breinigsville, Pa.; Edge Cycling) earned the national title for the U23 category.

Qualifying in the top spot with a time of 4:26.292, Cummins/Hicks/Ingram/Lawrence would go up against Bates/James/Pattishall/Rutecki in the Women’s Team Pursuit Final. After a well-fought seven laps, Cummins/Hicks/Ingram/Lawrence made the catch and claimed the Stars and Stripes.

Following the afternoon session’s qualifiers, 23 riders made it through to the final for their chance to compete for the national title. A true mixture of endurance, strategy, and power, the evening session’s Points Race final had spectators on the edges of their seats. Grant Koontz (Nederland, Colo.; Star Track UCI) established an early lead and rode that momentum to the top podium spot, winning the Stars and Stripes with a total of 98 points. Luke Fetzer (Laguna Niguel, Calif.; Turbo Velo Pickle Juice) rode an impressively consistent and strong race, securing bronze with a total of 66 points. On the fifteenth sprint, Anders Johnson (Huntsville, Utah; Ventum/Voler) began to strategically bridge the gap, tallying points on every sprint, until ultimately winning the final sprint and securing silver with a total of 72 points. Fetzer’s performance also earned him the Stars and Stripes jersey for the U23 category.

The Women’s Elimination Race concluded the day’s events, where 16 riders battled it out for gold. Stephanie Lawrence (Colorado Springs, Colo.; Star Track) powered through to victory, claiming the national title. Bethany Ingram (Columbia, S.C.; UCI CTW: Virginia's Blue Ridge TWENTY28) earned silver, and Morgan James (Costa Mesa, Calif.; Velo Club La Grange) rounded out the podium with bronze. Kat Kendall (Manhattan Beach, Calif.; Ironfly/iCademy Junior Development) earned the Stars and Stripes jersey for the U23 category.
