
Emma Jimenez Palos Earns Silver in Pursuit at 2025 UCI Junior Track World Championships
On the second day of the 2025 UCI Junior Track World Championships, American riders took on the Men’s Omnium and the Women’s Individual Pursuit at the Omnisport Apeldoorn Arena.
Ashlin Barry (Toronto, Ont.; JEGG - SKIL - DJR powered by Visma Lease-a-Bike), last year’s podium finisher, entered the Omnium eager to improve on his performance. He placed 11th in the Scratch Race before storming back in the Tempo, where he won multiple sprints and gained a lap on the field, finishing fourth. Barry stayed consistent in the Elimination, claiming third and positioning himself tied for third overall heading into the final Points Race. Despite scoring in the early sprints, he narrowly missed the podium, closing the day in fifth.

Emma Jimenez Palos (Novi, Mich.; TWENTY28 Aevolo) rode strong in qualifying, securing a spot in the gold medal matchup against Denmark’s Ida Fialla. In the final, Jimenez Palos posted a time of 3:39.037, holding close to her qualifying pace, but Fialla took gold with a 3:31.757. Jimenez Palos earned silver, marking a standout ride for Team USA.

Tomorrow Ashlin Barry and Merrick Gallagher (Redmond, Wash.; Jerry Baker Juniors) will team up for the Madison. Gallagher will also take on the Men’s Elimination race along with Peyton Burckel (Lacombe, La; EF Education-ONTO) in the Kilo Time Trial.
