The 2026 USA Cycling Elite Track National Championships kicked off on Thursday at the VELO Sports Center with new National Champions crowned for Men’s and Women’s Omnium and Sprint.
After the morning session’s Scratch Race and Tempo Race, Cade Bickmore (Louisville, Colo.; Turbo Velo Cycling) and Colby Lange (Edwards, Colo.; Colo. Project Echelon Racing) led the pack with 70 points each. Otis Engel (Mertztown, Pa.; Star Track) rode to victory in the Elimination Race, which moved him into the top spot with 106 points. In a powerfully paced Points Race, Lange lapped the field and raced his way to the top step of the podium, winning the national title with a total of 140 points. Engel secured silver with a total of 128 points, and Bickmore rounded out the podium with bronze. Engel’s performance also earned him the Stars and Stripes jersey for the U23 category.

The points were close after the Scratch Race and Tempo Race, with Stephanie Lawrence (Colorado Springs, Colo.; Star Track) and Anna Hicks (Boulder, Colo.; Virginia's Blue Ridge TWENTY28) going into the evening session in the top two spots with 74 points and 72 points, respectively. The Elimination Race repositioned the leaderboard, where Chloe Patrick (Carson, Calif.; Caldera Medical x Aurea Racing), Olivia Cummins (Fort Collins, Colo.; Virginia's Blue Ridge TWENTY28), and Hicks finished in the top three spots, resulting in a three-way tie going into the Points Race. In a determined show of force during the Points Race, Hicks lapped the field to win the national title with a total of 150 points. Patrick earned silver with 127 points, and Cummins rounded out the podium with bronze. Patrick’s performance also earned her the Stars and Stripes jersey for the U23 category.

In the semi-final, Wyatt Paul (Seattle, Wash.; Water Line Racing) and Joshua Hartman (Long Beach, Calif.; Brihop) battled it out in heat 1, while Dalton Walters (Costa Mesa, Calif.; Turbo Velo Cycling) and Geneway Tang (Torrance, Calif.) went head-to-head in heat 2. Walters and Paul moved through to the final, where Walters won both rides and the Stars and Stripes jersey. Paul secured silver, and Hartman rounded out the podium with bronze. Finn Koller (Bethlehem, Pa.; Edge Cycling) earned the national title for the U23 category.

In the semi-final, McKenna McKee (Vancouver, Wash.; Star Track) and Mandy Marquardt (Allentown, Pa.; Edge Cycling) battled it out in heat 1, while Kayla Hankins (San Pedro, Calif.) and Hayley Yoslov (El Segundo, Calif.) went head-to-head in heat 2. McKee and Yoslov moved through to the final, where McKee won both rides and the national title. Yoslov earned silver, and Marquardt rounded out the podium with bronze. Yoslov’s performance also earned her the Stars and Stripes jersey for the U23 category.
