Samantha Bosco and Elouan Gardon Win World Titles at the 2026 UCI Paracycling Road World Championships

The 2026 UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships continued Saturday in Huntsville, Alabama, with athletes once again facing challenging heat and humidity on the course. With temperatures soaring under a week-long heat advisory, staying cool and managing the conditions was just as important as the racing itself.

Team USA added five more medals to its haul on Saturday, bringing the team’s total to 10 medals through two days of Time Trial competition, including four World Titles.

Samantha Bosco (Claremont, Calif.) led Team USA to the top step of the podium in the Women’s C4 Time Trial, earning her third World Title in the Time Trial. Grace Norman (Jamestown, Ohio) added a bronze medal after her incredible effort, while Shawn Morelli (Leavenworth, Kan.) raced to sixth.

Elouan Gardon (Acme, Wash.) dominated the Men’s C5 Time Trial, powering to his first World Championship title by more than a minute. Gardon averaged more than 32 miles per hour on his way to a commanding victory. Teammate Grant Simonds (Salt Lake City, Utah) also delivered a strong performance in his World Championship debut, finishing 12th.

Allison Jones (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added another World Championship medal to an already impressive career. Jones competed in her first World Championship in 2006 and has now appeared at 20 Paracycling Road World Championships, earning her 14th World Championship medal across more than two decades of competition.

Aaron Keith (Woodinville, Wash.) battled through a tightly contested Men’s C1 Time Trial, with the top six riders all finishing within the same minute. The winner was the only rider to break the 20-minute mark, while Keith crossed the line in 20:11 to secure the bronze medal. The podium finish marks the sixth World Championship medal of Keith’s career.

The Women’s C3 Time Trial featured a tight battle at the front, with the top five riders all finishing within the same minute. Clara Brown (Falmouth, Maine) delivered a strong performance to finish fourth, just seven seconds off the gold medal. Jamie Whitmore (Somerset, Calif.) also battled through the challenging conditions to finish seventh.

Making their World Championship debut, Owen Cravens (Cave Creek, Ariz.) and his pilot, William Seitz (Huntsville, Ala.), battled through the Alabama heat to earn a top-10 finish in their first season racing together internationally.

CJ Howard (Sacramento, Calif.) put together a consistent performance across two laps of the course, maintaining his pace throughout the Time Trial and improving his ranking with a fast second lap, finishing in the top-10.

Battling the heat and humidity, Justin Mathers (Fayetteville, N.C.) made an impressive World Championship debut, racing to a top-10 finish in the Men’s C3 Time Trial.

At just 15 years old, Broden Ala (Vail, Ariz.) made his World Championship debut, taking on the 20-minute Time Trial. Ala put together a strong ride in his first appearance on the world stage, finishing 16th.
