(January 19) – US Junior women took advantage of a dry, fast course in Benidorm, Spain over the weekend, earning two top-10 finishes and the best showing by Americans for the day.
Lidia Cusack (CXD Trek Bikes) placed 4th and Alyssa Sarkisov (CXD Trek Bikes) was 9th in the junior women’s race. This was Cusack’s fourth top-10 finish in five UCI World Cup races this season, including a victory in Dublin on December 1. Cusack is the reigning junior women’s CX national champion and currently stands fourth in the UCI World Cup Overall rankings with two more races left in the series.
Sarkisov, who placed 2nd behind Cusack in the CX National Championships, has two top-10 finishes in the past three World Cup junior races. Next up for the cyclocross team is the Hoogerheide World Cup on January 26, then onto the World Championships January 31 – February 2.

(January 17-19) – Chloé Dygert (CANYON/SRAM/zondacrypto) and Ruth Edwards (Human Powered Health) kicked off the women’s pro road racing season in Australia at the three-day Santos Tour Down Under.
Dygert won Stage 3 with a perfect leadout from teammate Neve Bradbury to score the sprint win. She placed 26th overall. Edwards was 4th on Stage 3 and 9th overall on GC. The two Americans will stay in Australia and compete in a week at the Schwalbe One Day Classic.
