The arrival of November is significant for USA Cycling clubs because 1) It's time to renew your club's membership for 2018 and 2) There is less than a month left to apply for Club of the Year awards!
Why it's important to renew your club's membership IN NOVEMBER
Club contacts can renew now through their personal USA Cycling account under the “Tools” tab and “Manage USA Cycling Clubs” or using a paper application. There is renew link under the red expiration date. Questions about the renewal process can be directed to clubs@uscyclinghelp.zendesk.com.
When individual racing licenses go on sale on Dec. 1, club members will be able to select their club's name for their individual licenses ONLY if that club has renewed for 2018. So renew your club membership now and make sure your club name is available to your members!
As you’re planning ahead for 2018, make sure your club will take advantage of the great benefits that USA Cycling club membership offers:
- General liability insurance for your club’s cycling-related activities like events conducted under a USA Cycling permit, award banquets, meetings, approved fundraisers, and club training rides that are not sanctioned by USA Cycling. Read more about USA Cycling club insurance.
- Inclusion in USA Cycling’s online “Find a Club” function, as well as access to a listing of riders in your area.
- The right to use USA Cycling’s logos on club stationery, USA Cycling-permitted race announcements, and other materials. (All logo usage must receive prior written permission from USA Cycling).
"Club of the Year" award applications are due on Dec. 11!
Winners of the annual "Club of the Year" awards will be announced on Dec. 20. Three overall awards (in three divisions) and eight special awards will be bestowed upon the winning cycling clubs.
New for this year, the application process is electronic. Any club contact can submit the application through their personal USA Cycling account by selecting "Tools" and then "Manage USA Cycling Clubs."
Each club may only apply for ONE award and once the application is submitted, the club contact CANNOT go back and open another application. There will be a "save" button so that you may begin the application and opt to complete it at a later time.
An application will not be considered unless the "submit" link has been selected before the deadline of Nov. 11, 2017.
