USA Cycling Announces 2025 UCI Paracycling Track World Championship Roster

By: Angelina Palermo  September 03, 2025

Ten athletes set to represent Team USA at the Paracycling Track Worlds in Brazil.

The 2025 UCI Paracycling Track World Championships will return to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from October 16-19. This marks the fourth time the Olympic/Paralympic Velodrome in Rio has hosted the event, following previous editions in 2018, 2021, and 2024.

Para-cycling track athletes compete in two divisions: Cycle (C), riders on conventional bikes with adaptations if needed, and Tandem (B), where visually impaired athletes race with a sighted pilot.

On the men’s side, Ryan Jastrab (Apple Valley, Calif.) is set to make his Paracycling World Championship debut. Former World Championship medalist Jason Macom (Colorado Springs, Colo.) returns to the boards, while Branden Walton (Livermore, Calif.) is back for his second Worlds, this time racing alongside pilot Ian Anderson (Fort Collins, Colo.). Tandem duo Michael Stephens (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and pilot Joe Christiansen (Lyons, Colo.) earned a medal in last year’s 750-meter sprint and will be aiming for more podium finishes in Rio.

The women’s squad is stacked with Paralympic talent. Five-time Paralympic medalist Jenny Schuble (Franklin, Tenn.) and four-time Paralympic medalist Shawn Morelli (Meadville, Pa.) lead the charge. Paris 2024 Paralympian Hannah Chadwick (El Cerrito, Calif.), who earned bronze in the tandem sprint at last year’s Worlds, will be pairing up with a new pilot, Liz Stevenson (Rochester Hills, Mich.), for their first international competition together.

The Team USA roster is as follows:
