By: Membership  May 20, 2026

Two day programming brings athletes, parents, coaches, and commissaires together for skill development, education, and support.

USA Cycling has announced the USA Cycling Regional Development Camp and Education Summit, taking place August 7-8, 2026, in Bentonville, Arkansas.

The two-day event includes separate programming for junior athletes, parents, coaches, and commissaires. Junior athletes will take part in a skills camp with on-the-bike training at multiple riding locations throughout Bentonville, while parents, coaches, and commissaires will participate in classroom-based education and role-specific sessions at Thaden School.

Regional Development Camp

The Regional Development camp is open to junior athletes ages 13-18 with racing or structured riding experience. Athletes will choose one off-road discipline to focus on throughout the camp, including Cross Country Mountain Bike, Cyclocross, or Downhill Mountain Bike.

Programming includes eight hours of discipline specific riding sessions, small group coaching with USA Cycling certified coaches, classroom education, tactical and goal setting sessions, custom casual camp apparel, and opportunities to interact with professional athletes. Registration includes separate educational programming for up to two parents or guardians.

Parent Programming

While athletes are at camp, parents and guardians are invited to educational programming to better understand athlete development, communication, progression, recovery, and competition pathways. Parents will have access to classroom sessions, select observation opportunities, informal discussions, Q&A sessions, and opportunities to engage with other cycling families.

National Coaching Conference

The conference provides current USA Cycling coaches the opportunity to continue their education, collaborate with fellow coaches, and gain insight into tools they can use to support athlete development.

The conference is open to all active USA Cycling coaches, Levels 1-3, and includes classroom education, coach collaboration, observation opportunities during athlete training sessions, and discussions focused on athlete development, communication, progression, performance, recovery, and competition pathways.

The conference is available both in person and virtually. In-person registration is $699 and includes 10 Continued Education Units (CEUs). Virtual registration is $199 and includes five CEUs.

Level 2 Certification Course

The Level 2 Coaching Certification Course is designed for current Level 3 Certified coaches looking to advance to the Level 2 Intermediate certification. Led by USA Cycling coach Clare Zecher, the course is available in-person only and includes classroom education and observation opportunities during athlete training sessions at the Regional Development Camp.

Registration for the Level 2 Coaching Certification Course is $699 and includes 10 CEUs.

Coaches must choose between attending the Level 2 Coaching Certification Course on Friday, August 7 or the National Coaching Conference on Saturday, August 8. Attendees cannot register for both programs, and registration does not include participation in both.

Entry-Level Commissaire Course

The Entry-Level Commissaire Course introduces new commissaires to race operations and officiating through classroom education, discussion, networking, and exposure to race scenarios. Registration is $99 and includes a first year commissaire license upon completion of program requirements, SafeSport, and background check.

Registration is open now on BikeReg. For more information about the programming, visit https://usacycling.org/membership-programs/usa-cycling-regional-development-camp-and-education-summit
