USA Cycling Announces the 2026 UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships Team

By: Angelina Palermo  October 05, 2026

15 riders are set to compete in Apeldoorn, Netherlands on October 29-November 1, 2026.

The 2026 UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships will take place October 29-November 1 in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, bringing the world’s best para cycling track athletes together for four days of racing.

Para Cycling track athletes compete across two divisions: Cycle (C), for riders on conventional bicycles with adaptations as needed, and Tandem (B), where visually impaired athletes race alongside a sighted pilot.

USA Cycling will field four tandems in Apeldoorn, including several returning athletes and new pairings.

Branden Walton (Livermore, Calif.) and pilot Ian Anderson (Fort Collins, Colo.) return to the World Championship boards after earning bronze in the Tandem Pursuit at last year’s World Championships in their first international event together. Michael Murphy and pilot Harrison Devine will make their World Championship debut as a tandem after impressing at this year’s National Championships, while Michael Stephens (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and pilot Joe Christiansen (Lyons, Colo.) will take on the sprint events. Current Pan-Am Champion Hannah Chadwick (Arcata, Calif.) will also race the tandem sprint events alongside her new pilot, Hayley Bates (Long Beach, Calif.).

In the C classes, Allison Jones (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Shawn Morelli (Meadville, Penn.), and Katie Walker (Chula Vista, Calif.) will all return to the World Championship boards. Morelli enters the competition as the reigning bronze medalist in the WC4 Scratch Race, and Jones is coming off her bronze medal in the 2026 UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships Time Trial.

On the men’s side, four MC4 riders will represent the U.S., including Ryan Jastrab (Apple Valley, Calif.), Jason Macom (Colorado Springs, Colo.), John Terrell (Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Brady Hout (Ronan, Mont.), who will make his World Championship debut.

“We’re really excited to take this team to Apeldoorn for the World Championships,” said Chris Furber, Senior Director of Para Cycling. “Last year we came away with two medals, and our ambition is to build on that performance. For us, it’s about adding value to performance, with every member of the team focused on how they can make a positive contribution to each athlete’s performance. Just as importantly, this is a learning environment. With only three major track events from here until the LA 2028 Games, we have limited opportunities to prepare our athletes at this level. We need to learn and improve quickly to make every opportunity count.”

USA Cycling will be supported in Apeldoorn by coaches Ben Sharp, a longtime Olympic and Paralympic medalist coach, and Pete Mitchell, a seven-time World Champion tandem pilot for Team GB.

The Team USA Roster is as follows:
