USA Cycling is expanding continuing education opportunities for licensed coaches with the addition of a new approved third-party provider course, now eligible for five Continued Education Units (CEU) upon completion.
This certificate program focuses on coaching women endurance athletes and covers practical considerations across the athlete lifecycle, including menstrual cycle impacts, pregnancy and postpartum support, peri/menopause, RED-S and low energy availability, pelvic floor considerations, strength training, recovery, nutrition, communication, and monitoring strategies.
Additionally, the Certificate in Coaching Women Endurance Athletes is set to run its first full cohort following a successful beta session currently underway.
Developed in response to consistent feedback from coaches across workshops, events, and online communities, the certificate fills a recognized void. While sport science has historically underrepresented female physiology and lived experience, until now, no dedicated endurance-specific resource has existed to help coaches navigate that gap.
The program delivers evidence-based research, expert insight, and practical tools tailored specifically to the demands of endurance coaching, without requiring coaches to sort through conflicting trends or marketing claims on their own.
