Team USA Recap: Frislie Earns Track World Cup Omnium Bronze; Lamperti First WorldTour Win; Jorgenson Podiums at Tirreno-Adriatico
(March 6-8) – Team USA’s Graeme Frislie earned bronze in elite men’s Omnium at the UCI Track World Cup in Australia. This was round one of the three-race series (formerly known as the UCI Track Nations Cup), which kicked off in Perth.
In the Omnium, Frislie won the Elimination race, took 3rd in the Points race, was 4th in the Tempo race and 12th in Scratch.
Round 2 takes place April 17-19 in Hong Kong, where Team USA will have a fully stacked team.

(March 7) – Matteo Jorgenson (Team Visma-Lease a Bike) placed 8th at Strade Bianche, the Tuscan classic featuring 14 hilly sectors of white gravel over a 204- kilometer course. It was Jorgenson’s third race and third top-10 finish this season.

(March 11) – Riding for her new team, Megan Jastrab (UAE Team ADQ) placed 3rd at the 140 kilometer Belgian race that runs from Sint-Pieters-Leeuw to Oetingen. Jastrab won the sprint for 3rd, coming in 11 seconds behind winner Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime).

(March 8-15) – Luke Lamperti (EF Education EasyPost) scored the biggest victory of his career, winning stage one of Paris-Nice. The 170-kilometer stage came down to a bunch sprint, with the 23-year-old earning his first WorldTour win and the yellow leader’s jersey.
Lamperti also placed 5th on stages 2 and 7, but didn’t complete the final day’s stage 8.

(March 9-15) – Matteo Jorgenson (Team Visma-Lease a Bike) placed 2nd at Tirreno-Adriatico, becoming just the third American ever to podium at the week-long Italian stage race. The 26-year-old earned a few extra seconds on the last day in a mid-race sprint, moving him up from 3rd to 2nd and putting him 40 seconds behind the winner, Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG).
Magnus Sheffield (INEOS Grenadiers) placed 9th overall and 3rd in the Youth category. It was the 23-year-old’s second top-10 placing in a stage race this year. He placed 6th at Volta Comunitat Valenciana in early February.

(March 6-7) – Nearly 100 collegiate riders took on a 49.5-mile course at the inaugural USA Cycling Collegiate Gravel National Championships, held at Valley of Tears Texas Gravel, in Turkey, Texas. Pro men and women also competed over the weekend, and the race served as a stop on the USA Cycling Junior Gravel National Series calendar.
The course included gravel roads, old rail trail, and singletrack within Caprock Canyons State Park.
Nate Meister (Fort Lewis College) captured the Collegiate Men’s title, with teammates Elliot Thorblade and Oliver Rutburg placing 2nd and 3rd. Emma Kasza-James (Midwestern State University) won the Collegiate Women’s title, followed by Oona Nelson (Fort Lewis College) and Kaya Schroeder (Milligan University) in 2nd and 3rd.
Fort Lewis College earned the Team Omnium title. Midwestern State University and Milligan University placed 2nd and 3rd. Collegiate Gravel Nationals will be returning to Turkey, Texas, in partnership with Valley of Tears, next Spring. The 2027 Collegiate Gravel National Championship will also be an addition to the 2026/2027 Season Omnium.
For the Junior Gravel Series race, cyclists tackled a 49.5 mile course with Evan Halbleibplacing 1st for junior men, followed by Axel Brandsmeier and Cooper Johnson in 2nd and 3rd. Kate Elwell placed 1st for junior women with the 10th fastest time overall among the juniors. Allie Reznicek and Madison Lee placed 2nd and 3rd.
The men’s and women’s pro races covered a 93.4 mile course. Alexey Vermeulen (ENVE) won the men’s race in 4:17:22, one second ahead of Simen Nordahl Svendsen (PAS Racing) and two seconds over 3rd-place Adam Roberge (Felt).
Sophia Gómez Villafañe (Specialized Off-Road) won the elite women’s race. Paige Onweller (Trek Driftless) came in four seconds later (4:48:37) for 2nd, and Emily Newsom(Ventum-BikeTiresDirect) was 3rd.

(March 5-8) – Samantha Porras won the junior women’s DH race in Sapiranga. The teenager from Los Angeles was the sole American competing over the race weekend.

(March 14-15) – The first stop of the 2026 USA Cycling Cross-Country Mountain Bike National Series came to Rock Creek Rumble, which also served as a qualifier for the USA Cycling Endurance Mountain Bike National Championships. UCI, junior, and age-group cyclists competed over the weekend in short track and XCO.
On Saturday, Carson Beckett won the elite men’s short track race, followed by Canadians Owen Clark (Pivot Cycles) and Tyler Orschel (KMC Nukeproof) in 2nd and 3rd and Americans Douglas Gambarota and Omar Wilson in 4th and 5th.
Canadians Elli Clark, Madeleine Pollock and Ayana Gagne placed 1st, 3rd and 4th in elite women’s short track, with Americans Madison Maloney and Abigail Dixon placing 2nd and 5th.
Tyler Orschel won Sunday XCO elite men’s race, followed by Owen Clark and Americans Carson Beckett, Nicholas Konecny (Lexware MTB Team) and Ned Broersma in 2nd-5th.
Elli Clark won the elite women’s XCO race, followed by Ayana Gagne, Madison Maloney, Mexico’s Fatima Anahi Hijar Marin and Kellie Harrington in 2nd-5th.
Britain’s Tanner Beetge won the junior’s XCO race, followed by Americans Everett Radock, Eden Baier-Miles, Cyrus McLaughlin and Benjamin Randolph in 2nd-5th.
Ada Watson won the junior women’s XCO race. Aleah Heiland, Canadian Clare Hauber, Hailey Nelson and Isabella Cardozo placed 2nd-5th.

(March 6-8) – The H-Town BMX Supercross Track at Rockstar Energy Park served as the opening venue for the USA BMX Pro Series, which attracted an international field of BMX pros.
Canadian Molly Simpson (Daylight/Hero) won Friday’s elite women’s race, followed by Daleny Vaughn (Biolab-Syndyt), Payton Ridenour, McKenzie Gayheart, and Carly Kane(Huffy/Bell/ProMax) in 2nd-5th.
Drew Polk (Factory Syndyt/LSG) took the elite men’s win, followed by Canadian Ryan Tougas (Chase/Brgstore.com), Weston Meurlot (Carbone Cartel), Trenton Moore(Prophecy/Fly/Carbone Cartel) and Rayne Lankford (Factory Syndyt/Zenith Racing) in 2nd-5th.
Day two saw Molly Simpson repeat her win in the women’s pro race, followed by Lauren Reynolds (Factory/Answer), Daleny Vaughn, Payton Ridenour and Derin Merten(RaceInc/Seven) in 2nd-5th.
Dutch Olympic BMX champion Niek Kimman (Meybo/Box) won day two’s pro men’s race, followed by Australia’s Izaac Kennedy (Chase Bicycles/Brgstore.com), France’s Sylvain Andre, and Americans Drew Polk and Kamren Larsen (Factory/Answer) in 2nd-5th.
Payton Ridenour won Sunday’s pro women’s race, followed by Lauren Reynolds, Daleny Vaught, Derin Merten and Molly Simpson in 2nd-5th.
Sylvain Andre won Sunday’s men’s pro race, followed by Switzerland’s Simon Marquart(Speedco/Avian), Colombia’s Mateo Carmona (Stay Strong), and Americans Drew Polk and Rico Bearman (BeStrongSports, IRC)
