Kate Brim is a Paralympic gold medalist and two-time World Champion handcyclist. Born in Donetsk, Ukraine, and adopted at age four, Kate grew up in a small town in Michigan. She overcame early challenges with language and confidence, finding strength in her family and community.

In 2017, a routine surgery left Kate a quadriplegic due to a spinal cord injury. Refusing to let her diagnosis define her, she regained her independence and discovered adaptive sports, including hand cycling and wheelchair rugby. In 2021, she was also diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, yet continued to compete at the highest level.

Kate burst onto the international scene in 2022, winning double golds at the UCI Para-cycling World Championships in both the road race and time trial (H2). She repeated that feat in 2024, establishing herself as a dominant force. At her Paralympic debut in Paris 2024, Kate earned gold in the H1-3 Time Trial, and bronze in the Team Relay.

Off the bike, Kate is pursuing a degree in operations management and enjoys playing wheelchair rugby. She is passionate about using her platform to inspire others living with disabilities and chronic illness.
